Two Virginia men have been sentenced to federal prison for their involvement in trafficking methamphetamine and machineguns. Damien Jahon Reynolds, 36, from Woodford, and Trey Wright, 26, from Fredericksburg, were involved in selling methamphetamine disguised as "ecstasy" pills along with machinegun conversion devices (MCDs) and privately made firearms equipped with additional MCDs. The transaction was conducted with an undercover agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

Court documents reveal that on December 20, 2023, Reynolds provided these items to Wright who then sold them to the undercover agent. Additionally, more methamphetamine and MCDs were found at Reynolds' residence.

Machinegun conversion devices enable semiautomatic firearms to fire automatically and are classified as machineguns under the law.

Wright pleaded guilty on April 24 to charges of distributing methamphetamine and possessing machineguns. He received a sentence of two years and six months in prison.

Reynolds pleaded guilty on April 25 to conspiracy charges related to distributing methamphetamine and possession of machineguns. On November 21, he was sentenced to twelve years and seven months in prison.

The announcement was made by Jessica D. Aber, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Anthony A. Spotswood from the ATF Washington Field Division; and Jason S. Miyares, Attorney General of Virginia after sentencing by Senior U.S. District Judge Robert E. Payne.

The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Ellen Hubbard from the Virginia Attorney General’s Office along with Assistant U.S. Attorney Peter S. Duffey.
