A St. Louis man has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for a series of restaurant robberies. U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark delivered the sentence on Thursday, following the conviction of Kammeron Davis for multiple offenses.
During Davis's trial in May, evidence and testimony revealed that he robbed a Penn Station restaurant at gunpoint in St. Louis on September 13, 2020. This incident occurred less than a month after his release from parole related to a 2009 robbery of another Penn Station location. On September 16, 2020, Davis attempted to rob a Subway restaurant in Maplewood but was deterred by an employee armed with a broom. Shortly thereafter, he successfully robbed another Subway in St. Louis by jumping over the counter and taking money from the cash register. On September 20, Davis and an accomplice committed another robbery at a different Subway in St. Louis.
The crimes were recorded on video surveillance, and witnesses identified Davis as the perpetrator during court proceedings. The jury found him guilty of three counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery, and three counts of brandishing a firearm during these crimes.
Judge Clark also ordered Davis to pay $4,788 in restitution to three restaurants and two employees affected by the robberies.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI along with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Maplewood Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Donald Boyce led the prosecution.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and community groups.
