CAPE GIRARDEAU - A Sikeston resident, Cameron L. Robinson, has been sentenced to a decade in federal prison for fentanyl trafficking. The decision was handed down by U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr.

In March 2023, law enforcement arrived at Robinson's Sikeston home to execute an outstanding warrant. During the visit, officers found over a half-pound of fentanyl hidden inside a barbecue grill on his back porch.

Robinson admitted guilt in a plea hearing held earlier this year at the U.S. District Court in Cape Girardeau. He confessed to possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute it. Following his prison term, Robinson will undergo three years of supervised release.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jack Koester led the prosecution for the government.
