Erik P. Grant, a 32-year-old resident of Schererville, Indiana, has been sentenced to 168 months in prison. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Gretchen S. Lund following Grant's guilty plea to charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of methamphetamine. This announcement was made by United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson.

In addition to the prison term, Grant will also serve three years of supervised release. Court documents reveal that between November 2022 and July 2023, Grant and his mother, Debra Moore, conspired to distribute methamphetamine. While Grant was detained at the Porter County Jail, Moore took over his drug dealing operations and continued selling methamphetamine on several occasions.

Grant's criminal record includes six prior felony convictions. The investigation into this case was conducted by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael J. Toth.
