A Burlington man has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in federal prison for methamphetamine distribution. David Lee Davis, Jr., aged 38, was convicted of distributing approximately two pounds of methamphetamine to an undercover law enforcement officer in October 2022.
Court documents reveal that at the time of the offense, Davis was on federal supervised release following a 2012 conviction for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and possession of a firearm related to drug trafficking. His supervised release was revoked, leading to an additional sentence of 51 months consecutive to his primary sentence.
Post-incarceration, Davis will be subjected to a five-year term of supervised release. It is important to note that there is no parole available within the federal system.
United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal from the Southern District of Iowa announced the sentencing. The case involved multiple agencies including the Quad Cities Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, Davenport Police Department, Scott County Special Operations Unit, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
