Tido Kirby, a 44-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, has been sentenced to 120 months in prison. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Philip P. Simon after Kirby pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl. This announcement was made by United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson.
In addition to the prison term, Kirby will undergo six years of supervised release. Court documents reveal that between March and April of 2021, law enforcement officials purchased fentanyl from Kirby on three separate occasions in Hammond, Indiana. During this period, Kirby was under federal supervision and had a criminal history with eight prior felony convictions related to firearms, drugs, and an aggravated fleeing offense.
The investigation into this case was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Indiana High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael J. Toth prosecuted the case.
