A Rochester woman, Takesha Rogers, has been charged once again for allegedly entering a restricted area at the Rochester Airport. U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced the arrest and charge, which could result in a maximum penalty of one year in prison.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire explained that Rogers had previously pleaded guilty on May 5, 2022, to similar charges after she admitted to climbing over a fence and entering the Aircraft Operations Area (AOA) at the airport on four occasions. Following her plea, she was sentenced to time served and one year of supervised release.

In April 2023, shortly after beginning her supervised release, Rogers attempted another breach of security at the same airport. This led to further violations and revocation of her supervised release. Consequently, in October 2023, she received a one-year prison sentence and was released in July 2024.

On November 27, 2024, just past 11:30 pm, Rogers reportedly entered a secured AOA again. A Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy observed her running towards an aircraft taxiing on the runway. She was taken into custody without incident and categorized as a Mental Hygiene Arrest before being transferred to Rochester General Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Rogers appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Marian W. Payson and remains detained pending further proceedings.

The investigation involved efforts from the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office led by Sheriff Todd Baxter.

It is important to note that charges are accusations at this stage; Rogers is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
