Husch Blackwell Guides Legacy Sports Partners in Acquisition of Danish Professional Soccer Club

Husch Blackwell served as buyer’s counsel to Legacy Sports Partners in its acquisition of Vendsyssel FF, a professional football club based in Hjørring, Denmark and currently competing in Denmark’s 1. 

Division, from owner Jacob Andersen. Andersen will remain with the organization as a minority shareholder and serve as its Chairman of the Board. The value of the acquisition was not publicly disclosed.Through its acquisition, the new ownership group seeks to position Vendsyssel FF as a leader in the intersection of sports and entertainment by developing top-tier football talent and sourcing up-and-coming young stars from Denmark, Latin America, and other global football hotspots.“Our ownership group is a strategic mix of talented individuals, each of whom brings something special to the team,” said Jeremy Klein, Chief Investment Officer of Legacy Sports Partners and a member of the ownership team. “We are integrating deep professional sports ownership and operations experience with finance, entrepreneurship, business strategy, and execution in order to create an innovative, globally oriented platform that extends beyond the pitch.”Legacy Sports Partners is managed by Eduardo Zapata, Jeremy Klein, Sergio Sobrero Salazar, and Andres Gutierrez.
