Attorney General Michelle Henry has announced the sentencing of Antoinette Hodge, a former treasurer for the City of Uniontown. Hodge received a prison sentence ranging from 21 to 120 months after being found guilty of embezzling approximately $106,000 in taxpayer funds.

A Fayette County jury convicted Hodge last month on charges including theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and failure to make required disposition of funds received. In addition to her prison sentence, Hodge must repay $106,750 in restitution to the City of Uniontown and cover the city's audit costs.

The charges were based on findings from the 48th Investigating Grand Jury and prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General. "The defendant has now been held accountable for dishonoring her position of public trust by deceiving taxpayers and stealing funds meant for the city of Uniontown," stated Attorney General Henry. "Our investigation showed that she, on many days, spent hundreds of dollars of taxpayers’ money on lottery games."

Hodge was elected as Uniontown's Treasurer in 2019 with duties that included collecting and depositing cash and checks received by the tax office. Trial testimony revealed that between 2020 and 2021, she failed to deposit over $106,000 collected by her office.

Senior Deputy Attorney General Kara Rice prosecuted this case.
