A Council Bluffs man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentencing took place on December 17, 2024.
According to public court documents, Dennis Earl Page, Jr., aged 56, was identified by law enforcement in December 2023 as the driver of a truck that collided with a parked vehicle in Council Bluffs. A subsequent search of Page's person and vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, 32 grams of marijuana, a loaded pistol, ammunition, and cash. Previously, Page was convicted of methamphetamine delivery charges in January and March 2018 in the Iowa District Court for Pottawattamie County and was released from state parole in August 2022.
Following his prison term, Page will serve an eight-year supervised release period. In the federal system, there is no provision for parole.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal from the Southern District of Iowa. The case was investigated by the Council Bluffs Police Department and Southwest Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force.
This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program designed to reduce violent crime and gun violence by coordinating efforts between law enforcement agencies and communities.
