A Davenport man has been sentenced to over 16 years in federal prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. Eric Eugene Muhammad, aged 38, was found guilty of distributing methamphetamine between June 2022 and February 2023 in the areas of Davenport and Moline. His activities included selling more than 100 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant.

Court records reveal that Muhammad had three prior drug convictions in Illinois Circuit Court for Knox County. At the time of his latest offense, he was on probation for an aggravated battery charge.

Following his prison sentence, Muhammad will undergo a five-year supervised release period as there is no parole option within the federal system.

The sentencing announcement was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal from the Southern District of Iowa. The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Springfield Division's Quad Cities SAFE Streets Task Force, Moline Police Department, and Davenport Police Department.
