William Durnal, a 60-year-old resident of Elkins, West Virginia, has confessed to charges related to the possession and distribution of methamphetamine. The admission came as part of a case involving a drug trafficking organization operating in Morgantown, West Virginia. This group was reportedly distributing significant quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine.
In an unrelated investigation, law enforcement officers discovered several hundred grams of methamphetamine during a search of Durnal's residence. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Zelda Wesley and Stephen Warner.
The Mon Metro Drug Task Force and the Mountain Region Task Force are leading the investigation into these activities. Both agencies are funded through the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program.
This case is part of an operation under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF). The OCDETF aims to identify and dismantle major criminal organizations that pose threats within the United States through a collaborative approach involving multiple agencies and led by prosecutors.
