A man from suburban Chicago has been sentenced to over 19 years in federal prison for producing child pornography. Glenn Clifford Messmer, using the screennames "coreyjohnsonnn" and "jayyyjansen," communicated with children on social media platforms Telegram and Snapchat. He paid them to create sexually explicit material according to his instructions.

Messmer kept detailed notes about his victims, including their names, ages, friends, school years, physical features, and willingness to engage with him. After his arrest in 2023, a law enforcement search of Messmer's electronic devices revealed possession of more than 350,000 images and nearly 18,000 videos depicting child sexual abuse. Many of these depicted prepubescent children as young as four years old.

Messmer, aged 48 from Darien, Illinois, pleaded guilty earlier this year to a federal child pornography charge. On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Franklin U. Valderrama sentenced him to 19 years and seven months in federal prison.

The sentence was announced by Morris Pasqual, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and Sean Fitzgerald, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Office of Homeland Security Investigations. The Darien Police Department provided valuable assistance in the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sushma Raju and Adam L. Rosenbloom represented the government.

Individuals who believe they are victims of sexual exploitation are encouraged to contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through www.missingkids.com or by calling 1-800-843-5678. This service is available around the clock.
