Attorney General Todd Rokita has issued a warning to four voice service providers for allegedly transmitting illegal robocall traffic. This action is part of ongoing efforts by the Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force, which consists of 51 attorneys general, to combat fraudulent calls.

Rokita, along with Doug Swetnam, Section Chief of Data Privacy and ID Theft, has been investigating these companies. "These annoying and illegal calls not only terrorize Hoosiers but Americans across the nation," said Attorney General Rokita. "I said it before and I’ll say it again, if the telecom industry won't police itself, this unprecedented task force will."

The task force's findings have been shared with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for further consideration. The companies warned include KWK Communications, Inc., Inbound Inc., AKA Management, Inc., and CallVox LLC. Each company received numerous traceback notices from an industry group between 2020 and 2022 for various scams.

KWK Communications reportedly routed over 20,000 calls with spoofed numbers in one month in 2022. Inbound Inc. allegedly facilitated over 28 million scam calls in a single month that year. AKA Management was linked to approximately 12 million imposter robocalls in one month during 2022. CallVox received warnings about thousands of unlawful calls made using spoofed numbers.

The letters caution these providers that continued transmission of robocalls could lead to legal actions against them under state and federal laws.
