Ellis, managing partner of the firm’s Houston office and vice-chair of Foley’s Energy Litigation Practice, is an accomplished trial lawyer who guides clients through evaluating and managing risk, developing effective dispute resolution strategies, and, as necessary, achieving their legal, business, and strategic goals through litigation. With a practice that is both national in scope and uniquely positioned to assist clients with complex matters in Texas, Ellis primarily represents national and international corporate clients across the energy, construction, and financial sectors that are involved in sophisticated, high-stakes commercial and financial disputes.
Frequently recognized for his legal practice, mentorship, and contributions to diversity and inclusion, Ellis is deeply committed to bettering both the legal profession and his Houston community. He currently serves on the American Bar Association’s Commission for Racial & Ethnic Diversity in the Profession, Houston Bar Association’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and Houston Volunteer Lawyers’ board of directors, among other engagements.
