Nominees announced for South Salt Lake justice court vacancy

The South Salt Lake Judicial Nominating Commission has announced five nominees for the position of justice court judge in South Salt Lake, Utah. The selected individual will succeed Judge Ryan Richards, who is set to resign at the end of December.

The nominees include Roger E. Baker from Sandy, Sean D. Brian from Harrisville, Mark Flores from Salt Lake City, Jennifer Foresta from Salt Lake City, and Ryan N. Holtan also from Salt Lake City. Each nominee holds a J.D. degree and is currently practicing law.

A public comment period is open until December 15, 2024. After this period, Cherie Wood, the Mayor of South Salt Lake City, will have 30 days to choose a candidate. The final decision requires ratification by the South Salt Lake City Council.
