Attorney General Michelle Henry announced that a Bradford County jury has found Matthew Chapman guilty of repeated sexual abuse of a child. The verdict was reached after a two-day trial, where the jury convicted the 43-year-old Chapman of indecent assault and corruption of minors.

Chapman, who resides in Ridgebury Township, is scheduled for sentencing on February 20. Before this date, he will undergo an assessment by the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.

Attorney General Henry commented on the case, stating: "The defendant violated the trust of a vulnerable young child to perpetrate repeated sexual assaults. My office takes its responsibility to protect children very seriously, and we will continue to do everything in our power to protect them from predators who seek to sexually exploit and abuse them."

Testimonies during the trial revealed that Chapman assaulted the child multiple times while she was asleep. His relationship with the child's family provided him access to her during these incidents.

Senior Deputy Attorney General Rebecca Elo prosecuted this case.
