Reed Smith is saddened to announce the passing of global corporate partner Gary Walker. Walker, 68, was a partner in the firm’s Pittsburgh office and a resident of Upper St. Clair. He passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.
“Gary was a gifted lawyer who had a meaningful impact on his colleagues and clients. He was a team leader, and a natural mentor to junior attorneys,” said Casey Ryan, Reed Smith’s global managing partner. “Gary’s loss will be felt throughout the firm and we extend our deepest condolences to his wife Sharon and their two sons, of whom Gary was immensely proud.”
Gary earned both his undergraduate and law degrees at Duquesne University. He began practicing in 1981 and joined the firm in 2010.
Funeral arrangements were through the John F. Slater Funeral Home in Brentwood, PA 15227 and a funeral mass took place at St. Catherine Laboure Parish, St. Louise de Marillac Church in Pittsburgh’s South Hills.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
