America First Legal (AFL) has issued a statement in response to President Joe Biden's recent decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden. Reed D. Rubinstein, Senior Vice President of AFL, commented on the unprecedented nature of this action.
"President Joe Biden repeatedly told us that he would not pardon his son, Robert Hunter Biden, for his federal crimes. Yesterday, however, Mr. Biden granted Hunter a ‘Full and Unconditional Pardon’ for ‘those offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014, through December 1, 2024.’ Notably, the pardon covers the entire time that Hunter served on the board of Burisma," said Rubinstein.
The AFL claims that "President Biden’s action has no precedent in our Republic’s history." They further allege that "the charges came about only after ‘several of [Mr. Biden’s] political opponents in Congress instigated them [sic] to attack me and oppose my election."
Rubinstein noted evidence from various committees and organizations indicating special treatment towards Hunter Biden by federal law enforcement agencies. He mentioned that "the FBI and the Department of Justice were aware of but silent about the Biden family’s foreign financial entanglements."
AFL argues that "Mr. Biden’s pardon relieves Hunter from the consequences of his crimes," but insists that this is not the end of their efforts to uncover more details surrounding these events.
"Our work, and the work of our partners, to ensure full disclosure will continue," Rubinstein stated. "Our citizens have a right to know how and why the Bidens merited special treatment from the FBI and other government agencies; the public deserves the truth."
