Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced the completion of an operation conducted by the Attorney General’s Fentanyl Strike Force on November 21, 2024, which resulted in four arrests in DeSoto County related to the sale of a controlled substance and possession of acontrolled substance.
The operation also included the seizure of nearly $3,000.
“Fighting the fentanyl epidemic cannot be done without cooperation andcoordination," said Attorney General Lynn Fitch. "My office is committedto building a network of law enforcement across the state with the tools andknowledge to disrupt drug operations and make successful prosecutions ofthese criminals. Thank you to our partners in North Mississippi who workedwith us during this operation.
Together, we can get these dangerous drugs off ofour streets and out of our communities."Law enforcement agencies that participated in the Fentanyl Strike Forceoperation include the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), the DeSoto CountySheriff's Office, and the Southaven Police Department.Attorney General Fitch announced the creation of the Fentanyl Strike Force lastyear with the roll-out of her One Pill Can Kill public education and awarenesscampaign. This operation was preceded by training sessions in New Albany andDeSoto County for 68 law enforcement officers who are now part of theFentanyl Strike Force network.
