America First Legal (AFL) has filed a reply in support of its motion for partial summary judgment in a lawsuit against President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The lawsuit seeks to stop alleged violations of the Taylor Force Act, which prohibits U.S. taxpayer dollars from being sent to the Palestinian Authority until it halts programs supporting terrorism. The Act is named after Taylor Force, a U.S. Army officer who was killed by a Palestinian terrorist in 2016.
The AFL claims that the Biden-Harris Administration has provided over $1.5 billion to Gaza and the West Bank, despite knowledge that these funds may subsidize payments to terrorists by the Palestinian Authority. Recent government actions have waived anti-terrorism sanctions, raising concerns about ongoing operations and support for terrorism within these regions.
Statements from AFL clients highlight personal impacts of terrorism allegedly funded by U.S. dollars. Stuart and Robbi Force, parents of Taylor Force, shared their experience of losing their son to a terrorist attack during his visit to Israel. They expressed concern about increased risks due to continued funding for the Palestinian Authority.
Sarri Singer, another client, survived a Hamas suicide bombing and described her injuries from the attack. She emphasized how enforcement of the Taylor Force Act is crucial for protecting individuals like herself who travel to Israel.
Reed D. Rubinstein, Senior Vice President at America First Legal, stated: "Our clients’ powerful statements illustrate the human cost of the Palestinian terrorism paid for and celebrated by the Palestinian Authority." He expressed hope that with an upcoming change in administration on January 20, 2025, there will be adherence to the Taylor Force Act and cessation of funds flowing into Gaza and the West Bank.
America First Legal continues its efforts to enforce federal law and ensure accountability regarding U.S. policies related to funding in these regions.
