Attorney General Kwame Raoul has charged a man from Pocahontas, Illinois, with possession of child sexual abuse material. This case is part of an ongoing effort by Raoul's office in collaboration with federal and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to apprehend individuals involved in the downloading and trading of such material online.

Kyle A. Bradbury, aged 43, faces charges in Bond County Circuit Court including 10 counts of possessing child pornography, each classified as Class 1 felonies carrying potential sentences of up to 15 years in prison. Additionally, Bradbury is charged with one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and one count of failure to register as a sex offender, both Class 3 felonies with penalties ranging up to 10 and five years respectively. Sentencing will be determined by the court. Currently, Bradbury remains detained at the Bond County Jail.

“Those who prey upon and exploit innocent children must be held accountable,” stated Attorney General Raoul. “Survivors and their families can face a lifetime of trauma, which is why my office will continue to collaborate with state and local authorities to help survivors receive justice to support their healing.”

Investigators from Raoul’s office alongside officers from the Bond County Sheriff’s Office executed a search at Bradbury's residence on Hug Cemetery Road in Pocahontas on November 7th. Evidence was discovered leading to Bradbury's arrest.

It is important to note that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

The prosecution will be handled by Raoul’s office together with Bond County State’s Attorney Dora Mann’s office.

Raoul's office operates the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force through funding from the U.S. Department of Justice. This task force investigates child exploitation crimes and provides training for law enforcement agencies while receiving CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. In recent years, reports have increased significantly; specifically, there was a 46% increase in reports received by ICAC in 2023 compared to the previous year.

Illinois’ ICAC Task Force is part of a national network comprising more than 185 local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies among the total 61 task forces nationwide. Since its inception in 2006, this task force has been instrumental in over 2,145 arrests related to sexual predation.

Attorney General Raoul urges anyone aware of child sexual exploitation activities to report them via cybertipline.com or dcfsonlinereporting.dcfs.illinois.gov for cases involving child abuse. Local advocacy centers can be accessed through childrensadvocacycentersofillinois.org.

Assistant Attorney General Katherine Hegarty will lead the prosecution for Raoul’s High Tech Crimes Bureau.
