The Circuit Court for Baltimore City is set to celebrate the graduation of ten participants from its Adult Drug Treatment Court program on October 17, 2023. This event marks another milestone in the program's history, which began in March 1994 and has since helped numerous individuals overcome substance use disorders and reduce recidivism.

The program offers nonviolent offenders a chance to receive comprehensive treatment and support services. These include case management, drug testing, employment assistance, educational programs, housing aid, and help with securing state or federal benefits.

Graduates will be congratulated by judges, court staff, family members, friends, prosecutors, and defense attorneys during the ceremony. The event will take place both in person at the Elijah E. Cummings Jr. Courthouse and online via Zoom.

Daniel “Danny” Smith will deliver the keynote address. Smith is a retired assignment office supervisor at the Circuit Court for Baltimore City with nearly two decades of experience in the justice system and three decades in the recovery community.

Media representatives are invited to attend this significant occasion either in person or through Zoom.
