The Maryland Judiciary is set to unveil a newly redesigned Case Search website on February 5, 2024. This update is part of the judiciary's effort to align with current technology trends and enhance user experience by simplifying navigation and search functionalities.
The redesigned website aims to streamline the search process for public case information by prioritizing the most commonly searched fields. Users will have the option to expand into advanced search options if necessary, eliminating irrelevant fields that may complicate searches. This marks the first significant update to the Case Search site since its initial launch in January 2006.
Supreme Court of Maryland Chief Justice Matthew J. Fader commented on this development, stating, “It is our mission to provide fair, efficient, and effective justice to all. Modernizing the design of our publicly accessible Case Search site is one way we honor that mission.” He added that the redesign would enhance accessibility standards with a more modern and user-friendly interface.
A preview of this new design can be accessed through an online link provided by the Maryland Judiciary. It should be noted that while the website’s interface will undergo changes, there will be no alterations to the case data itself. The available data remains consistent with existing rules and statutes, focusing solely on improving usability and modernization of the website's interface.
