Twenty individuals will be honored for completing the Baltimore City District Court Re-Entry Project (DCREP) on November 30, 2022. The ceremony will be led by District Court Judge Nicole Pastore, who established the DCREP in 2016. This initiative focuses on reducing criminal recidivism by providing defendants with job training and placement opportunities as part of their probation or instead of incarceration. Since its inception, 195 participants have graduated from the program.
The event will feature Jermaine Lewis, a retired wide receiver from the Baltimore Ravens, as the keynote speaker. Lewis began his NFL career with the Ravens in 1996 and was part of their Super Bowl XXXV victory over the New York Giants.
The graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Eastside District Court Building in Baltimore. Attendees will include family members, friends, judges, and prosecutors.
Judge Nicole Pastore will preside over the event alongside other notable figures such as Chief Judge John P. Morrissey and Administrative Judge Geoffrey G. Hengerer.
