The District Court in Baltimore City is set to reveal the artwork of 17 student finalists at the seventh annual Courting Art Baltimore awards reception. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 18, highlighting high school students' creative works from Baltimore City. These include paintings, drawings, and other two-dimensional art pieces inspired by the theme "Awaken Baltimore." The selected artworks will be reproduced for display at the District Court in Baltimore City, Eastside Courthouse.
Courting Art Baltimore aims to showcase the talents of high school students from participating public schools in Baltimore City. The initiative connects the legal community with local residents and seeks to alleviate stress for courthouse visitors by enhancing its aesthetic appeal.
Scholarships totaling $20,000 will be awarded to top contestants for art programs or post-high school education. A first-place scholarship of $7,500 is included in this total.
