Ten individuals are set to graduate from the Anne Arundel County District Court Drug and DUI Treatment Court on Thursday, December 16. The ceremony will recognize their sobriety and successful completion of a court-supervised program. The event will begin at noon with a luncheon in honor of the graduates.
The drug treatment initiative began in 1997, with a DUI component added in 2005. Since its inception, over 1,000 participants have completed the program. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to a small number of family members and friends, who may also join via Zoom.
The graduation ceremony will take place at the Anne Arundel County District Court located at 251 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis, MD. Attendees must adhere to mask-wearing and social distancing guidelines. Judge Thomas J. Pryal will preside over the event, with Richard “Gray” Barton, Maryland Judiciary Director of Problem-Solving Courts, also present. Jillian Johnston, an alumna of the program, will deliver the keynote speech.
