District Court Help Center opens in Montgomery County with ribbon-cutting ceremony

The District Court Help Center in Rockville is set to open its doors with a grand opening event scheduled for Friday, December 10. The center will provide free limited legal assistance to individuals without attorney representation. Services include help with civil district court case types such as landlord and tenant issues, small claims, return of property, domestic violence cases, debt collection, and expungement.

The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the new facility. Key figures attending the celebration include Chief Judge Joseph M. Getty of the Court of Appeals of Maryland, Chief Judge John P. Morrissey of the District Court of Maryland, District Administrative Judge Sherri D. Koch from Montgomery County's District Court, Wilhelm H. Joseph Jr., executive director of Maryland Legal Aid, and Nicolle Katrivanos, supervising attorney at Maryland Center for Legal Assistance LLC.

The ceremony will commence at 11 a.m. on the sixth floor of the District Court in Montgomery County located at 191 E. Jefferson St., Rockville, Md. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream option is available via the Maryland Courts website.
