Approximately 140 high school students from Anne Arundel County are set to attend the Schools in the Court program at the Anne Arundel County District Court in Annapolis. The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 12, and aims to educate students about the legal and financial repercussions of offenses such as drunk driving.
Students from Annapolis and Southern high schools will have the opportunity to interact with members of the Maryland State Police K-9 squad, observe court proceedings, and listen to individuals who have faced significant life changes due to poor decisions.
Anne Arundel County District Judge Shaem C.P. Spencer will preside over this educational initiative. This session marks the first of four Schools in the Court programs planned by the District Court of Maryland in Anne Arundel County for this academic year.
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Courtroom 1, Anne Arundel County District Court, located at 251 Rowe Boulevard, Annapolis.
