Attorney General Kris Mayes announced that a State Grand Jury has indicted Jesus Januario Sandoval Leyva on multiple charges related to a fentanyl seizure. The arrest took place on October 10, 2024, and involved the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, the Tempe Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Law enforcement seized approximately 150,000 fentanyl pills during this operation.

The indictment against Sandoval Leyva includes three felony counts: conspiracy, illegally conducting an enterprise, and possession of a narcotic drug for sale in an amount exceeding the statutory threshold. These charges fall under specific violations of Arizona Revised Statutes.

"All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and convicted by a jury," stated Attorney General Mayes.
