As Veterans Day nears, the Tennessee Attorney General's Office is highlighting resources available to veterans through VSAFE.gov and a dedicated helpline, 1-833-38V-SAFE (1-833-388-7233). The initiative aims to protect veterans from scams by providing information on common fraud schemes, tools for self-protection, and avenues for reporting and recovery. This service integrates resources from various federal agencies to ensure veterans have easy access to support.

"Tennessee’s military community deserves all the support we can give them, including when it comes to protecting their personal and financial information from bad actors," said Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti. "VSAFE gives veterans and military families the tools they need to protect themselves without the hassle of dealing with multiple federal agencies—ensuring streamlined effectiveness in resolving data breaches and reporting fraudulent activity."

Key components of the VSAFE initiative include:

- A centralized website: VSAFE.gov serves as a hub for fraud prevention, response, and reporting information. It consolidates data from federal agencies into one accessible location for veterans seeking assistance or wanting to report fraud.

- A centralized call line: The number 833-38V-SAFE (1-833-388-7233) provides a single point of contact for veterans, service members, their families, and survivors needing help with fraud-related issues. Callers are directed to the appropriate federal agency based on their specific concerns.

- Unified call center training materials: All VSAFE agency fraud call centers use standardized reference materials to ensure that callers are connected with the most suitable agency regardless of which federal agency they initially contact. This coordinated effort reduces confusion and directs veterans efficiently to the necessary support.
