Attorney General Michelle Henry has secured a temporary restraining order from a federal district court to halt the closure of the Pyrex glass manufacturing plant in Charleroi, Washington County. The decision prevents Anchor Hocking Holdings and its private equity partner, Centre Lane Partners, from relocating equipment and materials until further notice.

The court's ruling aligns with the Office of Attorney General's argument that such actions could cause "immediate and irreparable injury," as noted in an order issued on Thursday. Attorney General Henry emphasized the potential impact on the local community: "The closure of this longtime manufacturing hub will have permanent impact on the Charleroi community and surrounding neighborhoods, which depend on the plant for employment that is vital to the local economy and prosperity of families living there."

A hearing for a preliminary injunction is set for November 12. Anchor Hocking had previously announced plans to move operations to Lancaster, Ohio, affecting approximately 300 employees. The Office of Attorney General’s Antitrust Section is handling the litigation.
