Attorney General Tim Griffin announced the conviction of Josh Jackson, a former municipal employee from Horseshoe Bend, on three felony charges. The charges include Theft of Property greater than $25,000, Forgery, and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. Jackson entered guilty pleas on October 22 and received a sentence of six years probation, a $1,500 fine, and restitution of $30,112.
Griffin credited Special Agent Steve Moore from the Public Integrity Unit for his work leading to Jackson's arrest and conviction. He also acknowledged the efforts of 16th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Drew Smith's office.
“Public officials are obligated to act in the public’s interest. My office will continue to pursue investigations like these to maintain the trust of Arkansans in those who serve them,” Griffin stated.
Jackson turned himself in at Izard County Jail on November 27, 2023. His charges were related to using a credit card from the Horseshoe Bend Municipal Recreation Improvement District while serving on the city council in an unrelated role.
Tim Griffin has served as Arkansas's Attorney General since January 10, 2023. Before this role, he was the state's Lieutenant Governor and represented Arkansas’s Second Congressional District. His career includes service in the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General’s Corps and various legal and governmental positions.
