Mary J. Mudrick appointed judge pro tempore for Shreveport City Court

Retired Assistant United States Attorney Mary Mudrick has been appointed as judge pro tempore of Shreveport City Court Division C. Her term began on January 8, 2024, and will continue until December 31, 2024, or until the vacancy is filled. This appointment follows the retirement of Judge Pammela Lattier on December 31, 2023.

Mudrick's educational background includes a bachelor's degree from Southern University A&M College in 1980 and a juris doctor degree from Southern University School of Law in 1983. Her career with the United States Department of Justice spans from 1999 to 2023, during which she held several roles including Civil Rights Coordinator (Criminal/Civil) from 2016 to 2022 and Criminal Chief/Shreveport Office from 2010 to 2016.

In addition to her federal service, Mudrick has experience at the local level. She served as Assistant Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Shreveport in 1999 and held various positions within the Shreveport City Attorney’s Office between 1986 and 1998. Her judicial experience includes serving as Judge Ad Hoc at Shreveport City Court from 1995 to 1997.
