Ishpinder Sahni, a 31-year-old resident of Grosse Pointe Woods, has been arraigned in the Grosse Pointe Woods Municipal Court on charges related to the alleged embezzlement of over $350,000 from his employer. The announcement was made by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Sahni is facing multiple charges: three counts of embezzlement over $100,000, which are 20-year felonies; three counts of using a computer to commit a crime, also 20-year felonies; and three counts of failure to file taxes, which are 5-year felonies.

During his tenure as Chief Operating Officer at Woods Wholesale Wine between 2021 and 2023, it is alleged that Sahni diverted significant funds from online sales into his personal bank account.

“Embezzlement is a serious crime that can devastate small businesses and have a ripple effect throughout their communities,” stated Nessel. “My office will continue to hold employees who steal from their employers accountable to protect business owners and their customers.”

Sahni's next court appearance is scheduled for November 13 at 9 a.m., where he will attend a Probable Cause Conference in the same court.

The Attorney General’s office reminds the public that criminal charges are merely allegations at this stage. Sahni is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Additionally, booking photos are not provided by the Department.
