Attorney General Todd Rokita played a significant role in a legal effort that led to the U.S. Supreme Court's unanimous decision allowing former President Donald Trump to appear on the Colorado ballot. The court's 9-0 ruling supports Trump's eligibility, as predicted by Rokita.

"I predicted this unanimous decision since the beginning," stated Attorney General Rokita. "This was a clear attempt to disenfranchise and dilute the voices of millions of voters who benefited from former President Donald Trump’s time as Commander in Chief."

The Supreme Court's opinion aligned with arguments presented in two amicus briefs, involving 25 and 27 states respectively, spearheaded by Indiana and West Virginia. The court determined that under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, it is Congress—not individual states—that has the authority to decide federal office eligibility.

"With a 9-0 decision, I hope we can all now finally agree that Trump has a right to appear on the ballot," Rokita added. "This is a huge win for liberty and preserves confidence in the integrity of our elections."

The ruling prevents states from using Section 3 to exclude candidates for federal office from ballots, resolving this issue across the nation.
