Attorney General Todd Rokita has initiated legal action against an Indianapolis-based home improvement contractor, alleging fraudulent practices. The lawsuit claims that Hank Eversole, operating under the names All Services Construction and Nationwide Construction, engaged in misconduct by accepting deposits from consumers, beginning work on projects, and then abandoning them without issuing refunds. This left homeowners with incomplete repairs requiring additional financial outlay to rectify.
The allegations suggest that Eversole's actions constitute violations of both the Indiana Deceptive Consumer Sales Act and the Indiana Home Improvement Act. Attorney General Rokita is pursuing various forms of relief including injunctive measures, consumer restitution, penalties, costs, and other remedies.
"Hoosiers looking to make repairs or improvements to their homes shouldn’t have to worry about being shafted by unscrupulous contractors," said Attorney General Rokita. "We will continue working to hold accountable any contractor trying to take advantage of hardworking homeowners in this manner."
This case follows previous lawsuits filed by Attorney General Rokita earlier this year targeting contractors accused of similar deceptive practices. These included actions against Exact Loss Consulting, Storm Solutions Pros, Adam Greer for storm-related repair contracts they allegedly failed to honor and Quest Exteriors for not completing contracted exterior work.
To help consumers avoid falling victim to such scams, Attorney General Rokita advises vigilance and offers resources for reporting suspected fraud through indianaconsumer.com or by contacting his office directly.
