Attorney General Tim Griffin, alongside the Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force, has issued a warning to Florida-based gateway voice service provider iDentidad Advertising Development. The task force, which includes Griffin as a member, sent a letter urging the company to halt its alleged involvement in illegal robocalls.
Griffin stated, "This company routed dozens of illegal robocalls earlier this year, most of which originated outside the United States. Many of the calls impersonated government entities or were utility or financial scams. The letter our task force sent today sends a clear message to iDentidad: stop this illegal activity now or face legal action."
The task force highlighted that iDentidad received nearly 200 traceback notices for calls directed to the U.S. network from international sources. These calls were largely deemed illegal or part of dubious robocall campaigns. Additionally, the Federal Communications Commission has demanded that iDentidad cease its activities related to these campaigns.
Attorney General Tim Griffin took office as Arkansas's 57th Attorney General on January 10, 2023. His previous roles include serving as Lieutenant Governor and representing Arkansas’s Second Congressional District in Congress.
