Cellebrite’s technology has been a crucial asset to our Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, enabling us to extract critical data from digital devices quickly and efficiently. Recently, during our undercover chat operation, Operation Overwatch, Cellebrite’s tools were essential in extracting cellphone contents from the eight online predators we arrested as a result of the operation.
“We applaud the entire Operation Overwatch team for their tireless work to protect the most vulnerable. The partnership between federal and state departments and agencies was truly commendable,” said David Gee, CMO of Cellebrite, a digital forensics software company that provided technology and support during the operation. “We are humbled our technology was helpful in empowering and enabling the teams’ the ability to rapidly, and lawfully, access and examine the digital evidence needed to accelerate these cases.”
With Cellebrite’s advanced solutions, our investigators can access encrypted apps and analyze entire networks of communication. This capability has proven instrumental in building solid cases that hold up in court, leading to successful prosecutions and the rescue of countless children.
“More than just a technology provider, Cellebrite is a valued partner in our mission. Their commitment to offering training, support, and constant innovation ensures we stay ahead of the ever-evolving digital landscape,” said ICAC Special Agent in Charge Owen Pena. “We are deeply grateful for their technology and, most importantly, for their partnership in safeguarding our community’s most vulnerable members.”
