Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's Cyber Crime Unit has arrested David Hollingsworth, a 58-year-old resident of Hammond. The arrest took place on Thursday, March 14, following allegations of violating Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.1 concerning pornography involving juveniles, with seven counts filed against him.
The investigation was initiated after receiving cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Hollingsworth is identified as a previously convicted sex offender.
The arrest was part of a collaborative effort involving General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations. Following his arrest, Hollingsworth was booked into Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
