For the tenth year in a row, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and employees from the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) are participating in "Go Purple Day" as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On October 17, OAG employees donned purple attire to show solidarity with survivors and raise awareness about domestic violence.
Attorney General Ken Paxton emphasized the commitment of his office to addressing domestic violence issues. “My office works tirelessly to combat domestic violence and support Texas families. Abuse has a terrible and lasting impact on families and our communities. Across the agency, we provide resources and raise awareness to help survivors find safety and support,” he stated. “Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected and create a safer Texas for all.”
In line with these efforts, this year saw the relaunch of https://getchildsupportsafely.org by the OAG’s Child Support Division (OAG-CSD). The website offers resources for individuals involved in child support processes, focusing particularly on safety for family violence survivors. Originally launched in 2012, this initiative is a collaboration between the Texas Council on Family Violence and OAG-CSD. The updated site aims to enhance user experience by providing improved functionality and up-to-date resources for navigating child support safely.
