Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of a Tennessee law aimed at protecting minors from undergoing irreversible sex-change procedures. The Biden-Harris administration is challenging this law, arguing that age restrictions on such procedures are unconstitutional.

Attorney General Marshall stated, "When the Biden-Harris administration sued Alabama and demanded that the state allow sex-change procedures on children, we fought back." He further alleged that internal documents revealed a collaboration between federal entities and advocacy groups to influence medical guidelines for minors.

The brief claims that the Biden-Harris administration worked with organizations like the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) to alter guideline documents intended for physicians treating gender dysphoria in minors. It also accuses senior officials at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services of pressuring WPATH to remove age limits for chemical and surgical interventions.

Marshall argues that allowing courts to shift authority from legislatures to expert groups like WPATH risks politicizing these organizations. He emphasized his role in defending Alabama's similar legislation, which was recently upheld by the Eleventh Circuit.

The materials supporting this brief are available online.
