Peckar & Abramson, P.C. (P&A) is pleased to announce that Benjamin J. Hochberg, Senior Counsel in the firm’s River Edge, NJ office, was appointed to the New Jersey Supreme Court’s District VC Ethics Committee. 

Effective September 2024 and extending through August 2028, Ben will contribute to investigating and prosecuting attorney misconduct within Essex County.District Ethics Committees collaborate with the New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics to investigate and address attorney misconduct within their assigned districts. Members of these committees must be actively practicing attorneys of high professional standing and exemplary moral character and are appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court.“We are incredibly proud of Ben for being appointed to this committee,” said Levi Barrett, Co-Managing Partner of the firm’s NJ office. “This appointment is a testament to his commitment to integrity and his dedication to upholding the highest ethical standards in our profession.”About Benjamin J. HochbergBenjamin is experienced in litigating complex construction disputes in New Jersey and New York. He has successfully litigated claims on behalf of construction managers and general contractors in a range of matters including, but not limited to, contract disputes, risk transfer, delay claims, and construction-defect actions with seven and eight- figure claims. Ben also has extensive experience in accident investigation and audits. He has also represented clients in false claims act litigation across the United States.Ben, a lifelong resident of New Jersey, earned his B.A. from Stevens Institute of Technology and his J.D. from Rutgers Law School, where he participated in the Rutgers National Mock Trial Team. 

Following law school, Benjamin held a clerkship with the Honorable Robert P. Contillo, J.S.C. (Ret.) in the Chancery Division of New Jersey Superior Court.
