U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee Henry Leventis Joins Holland & Knight's Nashville Office

Henry Leventis, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, has joined Holland & Knight as a partner in its Healthcare Regulatory & Enforcement Practice in Nashville. Mr. Leventis will focus his practice on helping clients with high-stakes government investigations and related litigation and internal investigations, with an emphasis on representing healthcare companies, executives and providers. For the past two years, he has served as the presidentially appointed chief federal law enforcement officer and regulator of a district widely considered the nation's healthcare capital.Mr. Leventis was nominated to serve as U.S. Attorney by President Joe Biden and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2022. 

During his tenure, he led an office of 85 attorneys and support personnel and oversaw the investigation and litigation of all civil and criminal cases brought on behalf of the United States. His office, which serves more than 2.6 million people, investigates and litigates a wide variety of matters, including violent crime, public corruption, civil rights violations, healthcare and other complex fraud, cybercrime and terrorism. It also brings affirmative civil enforcement actions under the Federal False Claims Act, Controlled Substances Act and Food, Drug and Cosmetic (FD&C) Act.

As U.S. Attorney, Mr. Leventis prioritized fighting fraud, waste and abuse in federal healthcare programs through robust enforcement efforts and increased industry engagement. Serving a district that is home to more than 500 healthcare companies, Mr. Leventis' office has consistently been one of the most active in the country with respect to civil and criminal healthcare fraud enforcement. At the same time, Mr. Leventis increased his office's engagement with healthcare industry stakeholders in Nashville and around the country to highlight the U.S. Department of Justice's voluntary self-disclosure and compliance policies, and to build partnerships to help prevent fraud and abuse."Henry is an exceptionally qualified and credentialed leader who is well known in the healthcare industry. He has investigated, litigated and tried high-stakes enforcement matters throughout the United States and held numerous leadership positions in the U.S. Attorney's Office, including Chief of the White-Collar Crime Unit and Director of Litigation over the Civil and Criminal Divisions.
