Trial Court Vacancy Commission seeks applicants for 4th Judicial District vacancy

The Trial Court Vacancy Commission is seeking applications to fill a vacancy in the 4th Judicial District Circuit Court, following the passing of Judge O. Duane Slone on August 24, 2024. The district encompasses Cocke, Grainger, Jefferson, and Sevier counties.

Applicants must be attorneys licensed in Tennessee, at least 30 years old, have resided in the state for five years, and live within the judicial district. The commission aims to promote a diverse judiciary and encourages all eligible attorneys to apply.

A public hearing is scheduled for November 12 at 9:00 a.m. EDT in the Sevier County Courthouse's third-floor courtroom located at 125 Court Ave., Sevierville, TN. Completed applications must reach the Administrative Office of the Courts by October 23 at noon CDT.
