WASHINGTON, D.C. – America First Legal (AFL) has initiated investigations into the Biden-Harris Administration’s records concerning Ryan Wesley Routh following a second assassination attempt on President Trump.
Routh, a convicted felon, was charged in U.S. District Court with two gun crimes. He is described as a political partisan who reportedly "hates Trump" and has allegedly called on Iran to assassinate the former President, claiming that Trump is a threat to "democracy." Routh has also traveled to Ukraine and recruited Afghan and other volunteers for the Ukraine Foreign Legion, a unit of the Ukrainian Army.
Given Routh's criminal history and activities in Ukraine, AFL believes there may be grounds to suspect that he was monitored by the U.S. government. To ascertain whether the Biden-Harris Administration was aware of Routh's potential risk to President Trump, AFL has filed urgent information requests from various departments and agencies.
This investigation follows AFL’s previous multi-front investigation on July 16, 2024, regarding the first assassination attempt against President Trump in Pennsylvania.
