On September 11, 2001, terrorists affiliated with Al Qaeda and supported by Qatar killed nearly three thousand Americans. Today, America First Legal (AFL) has opened an investigation into the U.S. Department of Justice National Security Division to scrutinize the Biden-Harris Administration’s handling of national security matters.
9/11 was a day of unprecedented shock and suffering in the history of the United States. To understand how it happened and prevent future tragedies, Congress and the President created the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States in 2002. The commission's 2004 report provided key findings and recommendations.
According to AFL, these recommendations remain valid two decades later. However, they allege that for partisan political gain, the Biden-Harris Administration has disregarded these lessons. AFL criticizes statements made by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Attorney General Merrick Garland in 2023, which they claim downplay the nature of the 9/11 attacks. They also accuse the administration of providing financial support to Iran and its proxies, violating the Taylor Force Act by funding entities in Judea, Samaria (West Bank), and Gaza that benefit Hamas and the Palestinian Authority.
Furthermore, AFL alleges that lax border security under this administration has allowed millions of illegal aliens to enter the United States unchecked, including suspected terrorists whose numbers and whereabouts are unknown.
AFL is requesting key records from the DOJ’s National Security Division to shed light on these issues. "AFL will continue fighting to expose the Biden-Harris Administration’s reckless policies and to hold it accountable for protecting our national security," stated Reed D. Rubinstein, America First Legal Senior Vice President.
Rubinstein remarked: “On 9/11, the United States was attacked by a brutal and fanatical enemy motivated by the same twisted core ideology as ISIS and Hamas... This warning speaks truth; truth that the Biden-Harris Administration... ignores.”
