Clark Hill announced that Scott Koller has joined the firm as a Member of its Cybersecurity, Data Protection, and Privacy team.
Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Koller advises clients from across all industries to help them prepare for and respond to cybersecurity incidents and data breaches.
“The first question most clients ask is how to better prepare the organization and be more resilient in the event of a ransomware incident,” Koller said. “Ransomware and cyber extortion are a top concern for many clients when it comes to incident response.”
Leveraging his technical background in computer networking and computer forensics, he regularly advises clients regarding compliance with data privacy and security requirements, including state data breach notification laws, HIPAA & HITECH, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), state data protection laws, and international data privacy laws.
“We’re delighted that Scott has joined the team, said Cybersecurity Business Unit Leader Melissa Ventrone. “Scott’s experience handling compliance, data breach response, and proactive cybersecurity and privacy strategies for clients in many industries strengthens our commitment to providing cohesive solutions that meet client needs head-on.”
“Scott’s addition to our team of highly skilled lawyers adds depth to our cybersecurity and privacy practice where demand is rapidly growing,” Business Unit Director Lara Forde said.
Koller is active in the International Association of Privacy Professionals and the California Lawyers Association Cybersecurity Section. He also was a founding member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Privacy/Cyber Section. Koller earned his law degree from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
