Baker McKenzie has successfully assisted Enel Green Power Australia, a joint venture company co-owned by Enel Green Power SpA and INPEX Renewable Energy Australia Pty Ltd, to sign a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Zen Energy.
Enel Green Power Australia operates renewable energy plants across Australia. The company is facilitating the move towards electrification and sustainable energy.
Australian owned ZEN Energy provides renewable energy solutions for commercial properties and residential homes.
Baker McKenzie lead partner, Aylin Cunsolo stated: "This involved complex negotiations for a PPA contract for difference agreement and supply of green products, in relation to EGPA’s Quorn Park Hybrid Project, a co-located solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) to be constructed in Parkes Shire, New South Wales. The project is expected to commence construction imminently, with a targeted commercial operations date in 2026."
Aylin further commented: "This is the first offtake agreement in the market for a project that intends to register under the new ‘Integrated Resource Provider’ market participant category in the National Electricity Market, which allows hybrid projects to register and participate in a single registration category (rather than under separate registrations for the one project)."
Aylin was supported by a Baker McKenzie team comprising: Aimi Tran and Will Eefting.
