Fox Rothschild congratulates Kelly T. Dempsey on her selection as a 2024 Angels in Adoption® honoree by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI).

For 25 years, the Angels in Adoption® Leadership Program has recognized leading individuals, families and organizations across the U.S. who work “tirelessly to advocate for children, youth and families” through their contributions to “adoption, permanency and child welfare.”

Dempsey, whose nomination was supported by U.S. Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina, will travel to Washington D.C. to take part in a leadership program that includes meetings with federal policymakers, advocacy and educational training and networking with fellow advocates. Honorees will also be recognized at the CCAI’s Angels Celebration.

Co-Chair of the firm’s Adoption & Family Formation practice group, Dempsey handles the full spectrum of adoptions, including domestic, international, step-parent and relative adoptions, adoptions from foster care, and disruption, dissolution and contested adoptions.

Since launching the practice group at Fox, Dempsey has opened approximately 500 new family formation matters and completed 100 North Carolina foster parent adoptions. She has assisted with several high-profile adoption cases over the past year surrounding adoptions from Haiti to the United States. She has testified before Congress, tried cases to a verdict before juries and helped hundreds of clients around the world.

Dempsey is a Fellow and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys.
